A Bit About Me
Hey there! I'm Joe, and I'm a UX Designer who's probably taken a more scenic route than most to get here. Before diving headfirst into the wonderful world of user experience, I was busy navigating the wild terrains of construction, healthcare, and even film. Think of it as extreme problem-solving across different "sets"—from blueprints to patient care, and movie magic. Each stop taught me how to untangle complex messes, empathize with some truly unique "users," and build things that actually work. Now, I channel all that quirky, real-world wisdom into crafting digital experiences that are intuitive, delightful, and hopefully, just as impactful.
Work Experience
May 2025
February 2022 - Present
March 2021 - January 2022
UX Design Professional Certificate from Google - Empathizing with users through research, defining pain points, ideating and prototyping solutions, and user testing. I used Figma to create designs for real businesses and a local artist.
Surgical Scheduler - I began as a receptionist and worked with management to help other receptionists develop skills as patient advocates. I was promoted to remote scheduling of colonoscopies in 2023 and I have redesigned the patient portal flow and visual design separate from my full-time work there.
Freelance Film - Projects included various commercials, Grace Notes, Book of Mormon Videos, The Chosen, and an indie film by Hannah Peterson titled “The Graduates”(2023). Developed set design skills and iterated on those designs as needed for different scenes, stakeholder input from producers and directors, and camera angles.
